Sheepsong and Archibald go out for a walk on a bright, sunny day.

They discuss their son's progress on their training, and Sheepsong admits she is constantly worrying about when her curse will hit their sons.

Archibald tries to reassure her, but she still worries.

Meanwhile, Avalanchepaw approaches Blazepaw as he is sorting herbs and asks him about "the honoured dead" coming to visit the clan, a concept Blazepaw struggles to understand.

Avalanchepaw simply leaves, leaving Blazepaw to worry about the strange cat.

Avalanchepaw approaches a ghostly cat sitting atop a hill overlooking the clan's camp.

He sits beside her and, assuming a StarClan cat wouldn't simply sit and stare at their camp, asks her who she is and where she is from.
